Caesars Entertainment (CZR) paid a ransom after getting hit by a cyberattack, according to a report from The Wall Street Journal. According to the WSJ, the company paid approximately half of the original $30 million ransom demanded by a group of hackers targeting the Las Vegas strip. Caesers says this breach “will not have a material effect on its results.” The cyberattack has been attributed to the hacking group Scattered Spider, which also targeted MGM Resorts International (MGM).
